Biyyam Kayal(lake) is a green laciniate waterway situated near Edappal in Malappuram District. A boat race held in its extensive stretch of water during Onam draws a large number of people from far and near. Women rowers also participate in the race.
The annual boat race in Biyyam Lake will take place here on Friday.
About a dozen boats representing various clubs in and around Ponnani will take part in the race, according to the organisers.
